Scavenger Hunts

• Letters are placed through the house or outside when weather permits.
• We pick out letters and place them in places easy to see, and hunt them.
• We give them tips as to where they are.
• Some times we let them color the letters and then have them hunt for, lets say, the red letter A.

Mail Call: They love to check the mail to see what they got today.

• Make postal boxes out of shoe boxes
• Place a postcard with various letters on it in their postal box.
• We will sometimes add a pic of something that begins with that letter.
• We keep all kinds of stickers to let them use as stamps.
• At times we spell out small 3 letter words. They collect the cards they receive that week and spell out the word.

Spell Out Your Name: The thing they love most is printing the letters to spell out their name.

Just the fact that mom can print them things from the computer. They wait so anxiously for the paper to fall from the printer. That tops all!
