Attack Submarines - SSN

Attack submarine are designed to seek and destroy.

Its main targets are enemy submarines and surface ships. It projects power ashore with Tomahawk cruise missiles and Special Operation Forces.

Attack Submarines carry out Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions. It handles support Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Battle Groups and engages in mine warfare.

The US Navy has three classes of SSNs submarines now in service:

1. Los Angeles class is the backbone of the submarine force with 41 now in commission.
2. The Three Seawolf class submarines are quiet, faster, well armed, and equipped with advanced war fighting power.
3. The 18 Virginia class submarines are the next-generation of American submarines.
